Desert area, endemic for coccidioidomycosis which is a lung disease due to Coccidoides immitis. The distribution of this fungus is correlated to the presence of plants belonging to genus Larrea. Sand winds or road traffic blow and spread fungal arthrospores which were in the upper layer of the soil.
