Bone marrow aspirate - Leishmania sp. amastigotes [MGG]

Amastigotes of Leishmania are spherical to ovoid and measure 2-6 µm long. They possess two characteristic features that are easily seen by light microscopy after staining, i.e a prominent nucleus and a kinetoplast, both stained purple by MGG staining.
