Technique of the thick blood film for malaria diagnosis

Both the thick and thin blood film are the cornerstone for malaria diagnostic. Using the corner of a clean slide a drop of blood is spread in a circle. Wait the thick film is completely dry before staining. As this technique allows to screen a larger volume of blood, it is more sensitive that the thin film for malaria diagnosis.
