Capillaria philippinensis is a parasitic nematode and the causative agent of capillariasis, an intestinal disease. Eggs of this nematodes (50-60 µm x 20-30 µm) have nonprotruding polar plugs and a striated shell. Both characteristics are useful to distinguish them from those of Trichuris trichiura.
