Chilomastix mesnili – Cysts in stools (wet mount, Lugol staining X 200)

Pear-shaped cysts found by fecal examination during a diarrhea in a patient returning from Angola. The nucleus displays a central caryosome, and the cytostome, with a folded flagellum inside, may be seen in some cysts.
