Unlike nucleus, the posterior pointed tip is quite visible on this pic, together with the small kintoplast (not subterminal like that of T. cruzi). Trypanosoma brucei is the causative agent of african trypanosomiasis (including the human African sleeping sickness and related animal diseases).
