Sarcocystis hominis (syn. S. bovihominis) – Cyst in bovine muscle (HES stain)

Cysts are found in muscles, and the size ranges from 300 µm to 500. They contain hundredths of bradyzoites, that are the infective stage. Man acquires infection through ingestion of raw or undercooked beef or pork (S. suihominis) meat.
