Intestine - amebiasis- trophozoites (20 µm to 40 µm) after HES staining

France, Pays Jean-François

Pathology slide examined under high magnification. In the center, a trophozoite may be identified since the section plane, cutting through the karyosome, shows characteristic nuclear features, namely a peripheral chromatine arranged in fine granules evenly disposed, along with a central or subcentral karyosome. Entamoeba histolytica is the causative agent of amebiasis.
