Toxoplasma gondii – Cyst in brain (HES stain)

A cyst containing numerous bradyzoites may be seen in the center of the pic. Such cysts, that are from 5 µm to 100 µm in diameter, develop during chronic infection within brain, eye, myocardium or skeletal muscles.
