Toxoplasma gondii – Lysis of a tissue cyst after tryptic digestion

Bradyzoites are released following cyst lysis. In Man, this phenomenon occurs during reactivation of toxoplasmosis. Released parasites may multiply, thus eliciting a clinically apparent infection.
