Sarcocystis hominis – Sporocystes (about 14 µm X 9 µm) in formalin-fixed stools

Whatever their situation, single or coupled, sporocysts of S. hominis are ovoid. The content is made of 4 teardrop-shaped sporozoites, and of a clump of large granules localized at one pole (heteroxenous life cycle).
