Malaria diagnosis by QBC ®

For QBC ® test, about 50 µl of whole blood is taken into a capillary tube containing heparine and coated with acridine orange. A float is inserted, then the tube is fitted with a cap. After centrifugation at 12000 rpm, the tube is examined under fluorescence in the region between blood cells and buffy coat. Due to acridine orange, malaria parasites stain bright green.
