Giardia intestinalis – Cyst (10 µm to 13 µm X 8 µm) in stools (MIF concentrate)

Mature cysts of Giardia intestinalis have 4 nuclei (not visible on this pic), axonemes and median bodies. Usually, the most prominent component is an elongate S-shaped stack of flagella which crosses the cyst in the median axis. Often some cysts appear to be shrunk or distorted.
