Entamoeba histolytica or Entamoeba dispar – cyst in stools (MIF concentrate)

No shell is apparent, and cyst outline is irregular and misleading. Only 2 nuclei may be observed. The cytoplasm contains a rounded-tip chromatoid bar which stained strongly with MIF reagent, and is diagnostic for both E. histolytica (the causative agent of amebiasis) and E. dispar species.
