Sergentella hominis – Sergentella yakimovi (30 µm to 40 µm X 1.5 µm to 5 µm)

Spore of a pathogenic fungus of cotton plant. In the past, misdiagnosed as microfilaria which was called “Sergentella”. May be rarely found in blood samples which were accidentally in contact with cotton fibers.
