Eggs of Hymenolepis nana (40 to 50 µm) are round to oval-shaped and contain an hexacanth embryo. Note the double wall: a thin outer colorless and smooth shell, and an inner shell with polar filaments attached.This parasite is reponsible for hymenolepiasis.
