Trichobilharzia sp. – Cercaria

Genus Trichobilharzia (Trematoda, Digena, Schistosomatidae) parasitizes birds, especially Anserides. Cercaria of T. ocellata is characterized by 2 well apparent ocelli (photoreceptors) on the ventral side of anterior tip. Posterior end is forked, with 2 short branches. T. ocellata cercariae cannot undergo differentiation in humans, and cause lesions of cercarial dermatitis.
