Dracunculiasis – Adult Guinea worm emerging from skin

Between 10th and 13th month post infection, adult Guinea worm may emerge in any part of the body, but preferably in lower limbs. When the affected part of the body comes into contact with cool water, female ejects hundredths of thousands of microfilariae.
