Trichinella spiralis – Larvae

Larvae collected by trypsin digestion of parasitized muscles. Trichinella spiralis is viviparous. Within 1 week following ingestion of contaminated meat, adult worms lay 1st-stage larvae that are 100 µm in length by 60 µm in width. The amount of larvae varies according to host or Trichinella species.
