Ascaris lumbricoides – Eggs (60 µm x 45 µm) in stools, together with Entamoeba coli

The egg of Ascaris lumbricoides is colorless when shed, but becomes bile-stained in stools. It has a double shell. The outer shell is albuminoid, thick, and mammillated. The inner shell is chitinous, very thick (3 µm to 5 µm) and smooth. On this pic, 2 decorticated eggs and some cysts of Entamoeba coli.
