Fasciola hepatica – Adult specimen (2 cm to 3 cm)

Fasciola hepatica is a large, brownish and flat fluke. At the anterior tip, a distinct cephalic cone bears the anterior sucker. The posterior sucker is localized 3 mm to 4 mm back, in ventral position. Digestive tract branches in numerous coeca. The cuticle is covered with numerous spicules.
