Canine hookworm dermatitis – Creeping disease

Creeping disease is caused by a canine hookworm’s filariform larva migrating through the skin. Contamination occurs when people come into contact with the ground contaminated with canine fecal deposits. Within a few days after penetration, the filariform larva begins to migrate slowly, producing an erythematous, linear, serpiginous and elevated tunnel.
