Hymenolepis diminuta – Egg (60-80 µm long) in stools

The egg of H. diminuta is larger than that of H. nana. The light brown outer shell is rather thick, and displays a finely radial pattern, well visible on the pic. The inner shell is only seldom thickened at both poles, and never bears chalazas.
