Schistosoma intercalatum – Egg (160-240 µm X 80-120 µm) in stools

The egg of Schistosoma intercalatum, like that of S. haematobium, has a terminal spine which may reach 25 µm in length. This miracidium shows a central narrowed part (“mark of a too tighten belt”).
