Cyclops sp – Intermediate host of Dracunculus medinensis

To complete its life cycle, D. medinensis microfilaria should be swallowed by a tiny freshwater crustacean of the genus Cyclops, in which it matures and becomes infective within 4 to 6 weeks. Man becomes infected by drinking water containing parasitized Cyclops.
