Dracunculiasis – Extraction of an adult Guinea worm

No medical treatment for dracunculiasis is currently available. Traditional therapy consists in rolling the worm on a small round piece of wood during several weeks. The worm is frequently broken, and superinfection is rather constant in patients living in developing countries.
