Wuchereria bancrofti – Microfilaria on thick blood smear (300 µM x 6 µm)

The sheath of W. bancrofti microfilariae is well colored by MGG stain, and therefore can be easily seen. Nuclei are small and round, do not overlap, and do not extend to tip of tail. One nucleus is sub-terminal. Cephalic space is short, equal to a diameter of head. Internal body is apparent.
