Loiasis – Adult Loa loa worm in the anterior chamber

The localization of an adult Loa loa filaria in the anterior chamber is rarely observed. Usually, the worm slips between sclera and conjunctiva then goes back into orbite, around the eyeball. It induces a more or less strong conjunctival reaction, along with pruritus.
