Loa loa – Microfilaria (250-300 µm) on thin blood smear (MGG stain)

The sheath of Loa loa microfilariae is hardly stained by MGG method. The somatic nuclei are large, and extend in a solid row to the tip of tail. Usually the internal body is not apparent, but it can be seen on this picture.
