Strongyloidiasis - Larva currens

The so-called “larva currens” phenomenon is a pathognomonic skin manifestation of strongyloidiasis, and assumes the feature of an urticarial rash that may migrate in a serpiginous fashion at the rate of several cm per hour, and last up to 1 or 2 days. Preferred involved areas are buttocks, perianal region, abdomen and lower thorax.
