Strongyloides stercoralis rhabditiform larva in stools (Merthiolate-Iodine-Formaline)

In patients who are immunosuppressed, or treated with corticosteroids, the endogenous reproductive cycle of Strongyloides stercoralis can dramatically increase, leading to a disseminated or overwhelming infection. This form may complicate with Gram negative bacteria sepsis.
