Ancylostoma duodenale – Male adult worm (from 5 to 11 mm long)

Hookworms are blood-sucking parasites, reddish when fed. The male worm has a buccal capsule oriented backwards. The posterior tip is expanded to form a typical copulatory bursa supported by fleshy rays.
