Trichuris trichiura – Male and female adult whipworms

Adult whipworm is 3 cm to 4 cm long for male, and about 5 cm long for female. Diagnosis is easy since the 2 third anterior parts are thread-like, whereas posterior part is bulged (about 1 mm in diameter). This part is cambered in female worm, and coiled like a watch spring in male parasite.
