Oestrus ovis – Stage 1 maggot of sheep botfly

Oestrus ovis (sheep botfly) is a viviparous insect. Larvae (maggots) parasitize sheep’s sinus. In Man, this fly may deposit “in a flash” larvae into the nostrils or onto eye conjunctiva, and the infected subject feels only a light shock.
