Sarcoptes scabiei – A larva leaving the egg (direct examination X400)

Eggs hatch within 3 or 4 days, and 6-legged larvae (150 µm X 100) get out the burrows. Within about 10 days, they become nymphae that subsequently transform into adults of both sexes.
