Ixodes ricinus – Larva, nympha, male and female adult ticks

Ixodidae at every developmental stage. Characterized by a scutum on the dorsal side (which is completely covered in males) and by the anterior position of gnathosoma. A larva is only 3-pair legged. In France, I. ricinus is a vector for Lyme disease.
