Pediculus capitis – Adult female specimen (SEM)

Insecta, Anoplura, Pediculidae. Elongate body, from 1 mm to 3 mm long, Not sharply segmented thorax, with 3 pairs of legs equal in size and having claws. Male’s abdomen is slightly pointed, whereas that of female has 2 lobes at the posterior tip.
