Tungiasis – Tunga penetrans (HES)

Tunga penetrans gravid females are localized at the interface between derma and epidermis. Within 7 to 10 days, abdomen gets swollen, and displays a typical “clump of mistletoe” appearance. Note the arthropod’s sclerotized cuticle.
