Microscopic features of Aspergillus fumigatus (blue lactic x400)

Conidial heads of Aspergillus fumigatus are columnar with short, smooth-walled, 300 µm long conidiophores. Vesicles are broadly clavate, with phialides densely clustered on the upper half of the head (uniseriate). Conidia are globose and rough-walled, 2.5-3.0 µm in diameter.
