Outspread tinea favosa on the scalp due to Trichophyton schoenleinii

France, Badillet Guy

The favus (dermatophytosis) is a scarring form of tinea capitis characterized by saucer-shaped crusted lesions with dull hair. These crusts can cover the entire scalp. After falling there is a permanent hair lost for the alopecia zone.
