Cunninghamella bertholletiae - microscopic morphology in culture [lactophenol blue]

This species displays a rapid growth on Sabouraud agar. In culture it produces straight and erected sporangiophores. Compared to other mucorales species, conidia are produced by pedicellate sporangia covering the vesicle. As illustrated here, chlamydospores can be also present. This species can be responsible for mucormycosis.
