BAL: Pneumocystis jirovecii - spumous clums (MGG staining x 1000)

Pneumocystis jirovecii a spumous cluster of cysts at different stages of maturation in the BLA of an immuno compromised patient. We can see two mature cysts within 8 intra cystic bodies and several empty cysts. The cell wall of the cyst, colourless with MGG, appears in clear.
