Trichothecium – Direct microscopic examination

The hyphae of Trichothecium are septated and hyaline with simple conidiophores producing bicelled conidia mesuring 12 to 23 µm. These conidia are produced one after the other in a regressive conidial development (the conidiophore shortens).
