Actinomycosic mycetoma - Actinomadura madurae - grain (HES staining)

The grain corresponds to a micro colony grown into the tissues. The Actinomadura madurae lobular grain is voluminous. The border is strongly coloured in purple. At high magnification a tangle of thin filaments can be seen (<1µm).
