Talaromyces marneffei - different stage of the culture on Sabouraud agar medium

On the Sabouraud medium without cycloheximide, Talaromyces marneffei (ex Penicillium marneffei) colonies grow downy, powdery and produce a red pigment diffusing into the agar. The pigmentation varies according to the duration of incubation.
