Lung: Coccidioidomycose - CT scanning and microscopic direct examination

The CT-scan in panel A shows a well limited nodular distal lesion. In small panel B, the microscopic examination of a mature spherule with the small round endospores of Coccidioides immitis. Primary pulmonary manifestations are experienced during the infection due to coccidioidomycosis. The contamination occurs after inhalation of airborne spores.
