Mycetoma : black grains of Leptosphaeria senegalensis (HES staining)

Leptophaeria senegalensis is frequent in West Africa. It is responsable for black-grains mycetoma. Each grain corresponds to a fungal colony found in vivo into the tissues. Here the grain is in a micro abscess surrounded by a fibrous granuloma.
