Scalp: mycetoma due to dermatophyte

Mycetoma caused by dermatophytes are rare but can be seen in West Africa, here from Dakar (Senegal). Trichophyton rubrum, Microsporum canis, M. audouini var langeroni) can pass over the cutaneous barrier then produces white dermal grains. The clinical manifestations are painfull nodules surrounding a hair.
