Rhinosporidiosis

Rinosporidiosis causes polypoid lesions involving the nasal mucous membrane or the nasopharynx, rarely the palpebral conjunctiva. They are strongly vascularized and bleed easily with contact. Histopathology can only confirm the diagnosis. Now this disease is no longer classified as a mycosis. The etiologic agent Rhinosporidium seeberi has an inconclusive systematic position.
