Trichophyton violaceum (var. glabrum) - culture on Sabouraud agar medium

Trichophyton violaceum grow slowly. The colonies are restricted, glabrous and humid. At first, they grow white, then, they become clearly purple. The glabrum variety doesn’t produce the purple pigmentation.
